Nasolabial folds develop between the outer edge of the nostrils and extend downward to the corners of the mouth. Laugh lines are the parentheses-shaped lines at the outer corners of the mouth and small wrinkles at the outer corners of the eyes. As we get older, though, our bodies stop producing hyaluronic acid, a substance that helps maintain the elasticity that helps the skin “bounce back in place.” Over time, these areas develop wrinkles and folds. After the injections, you may have some tenderness, bruising, swelling and pinpoint bleeding that is localized to the injection sites. These symptoms should only last a few days.
