SkinPen Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that utilizes a special SkinPen Microneedling device to trigger the skin to increase collagen production, improving the overall volume, elasticity, and firmness of the skin.

SkinPen Microneedling done in our office is customized and often at deeper depths of needle penetration for improved results than microneedling done outside of a medical practice. Our patients have a very comfortable experience due to the use of medical-grade topical anesthetic cream applied for 30 to 60 minutes prior to the SkinPen Microneedling. The treatment may cause a temporary reddening for up to two days after treatment, creating a sensation similar to a mild sunburn. Men may be advised to postpone shaving facial hair until irritation subsides following the procedure.

WHAT ARE THE SKINPEN MICRONEEDLING CARE INSTRUCTIONS?

Prior to treatment, advise anti-aging product application for 12 hours, avoid sunburn, and inform us if you have a history of herpes (cold sores, fever blisters) so appropriate anti-viral medication can be prescribed if needed. Arrive with a clean face if that is the area to be treated.

After treatment, use any healing balms as recommended. For the first 24 hours, avoid direct sunlight, swimming, and exercise. The next day, it is ok to use medical sunscreen and makeup. Resume your usual anti-aging skin care after day 3.
